Medical Oncology

The Department of Medical Oncology at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation is providing treatment for several types of cancers at the Hanifa Suleiman Dawood cancer center.

Our team of expert physicians and nurses is dedicated to delivering effective treatments for all urologic malignancies including Kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, testicular and adrenal gland tumors. We also treat limited number of breast cancer patients and some cancers of the gastrointestinal tract which includes cancers of the stomach, esophagus and colorectal. As SIUT has a large population of kidney transplant patients, we regularly diagnose and treat post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders and solid tumors. Patients at SIUT cancer hospital are offered surgery for these cancers as well as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Our team in oncology includes Surgeons (genito-urinary cancer surgeons, breast cancer surgeons, gastrointestinal cancer surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologist.

Our team also include nutritionists dedicated to cancer patients, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists and psychiatrist. In addition to our clinical expertise, we are also committed to advancing the field of medical oncology through research and education. Our educational activities include journal clubs, case presentations and topic presentations at different cancer meetings. We hold weekly multidisciplinary tumor board meetings at SIUT Karachi, which involves SIUT Sukkur, and Oncology centers from Quetta and Larkana through Video link.

We are hoping to expand our cancer care services in Karachi as well as to start the services at SIUT Sukkur in the near future.
