World Hepatitis Day which is organized throughout the world on July 28th was also observed in Pakistan with a call to protect and prevent 15 million people who are suffering from this disease.
To discuss and educate the public at large as how to educate them and create awareness for combating the diseases the SIUT had arranged a day long program with a pledge to eradicate the disease by 2030.
A large turnout of people representing all walks of life was witnessed who thronged the Institute and availed the diagnostic and screening facilities. All the facilities were free of cost. The visiting public was handed over the literature of prevention and also explained with the help of videos.
The medical experts who attended the general public informed them those patients who are suffering from Hepatitis B and C if left unattended can lead them to liver cancer. Various precautionary measures were also explained to the visitors.
