Fresh batch of volunteers attend SIUT community program

Forty fifth (45th) batch of volunteers comprising 250 students hailing from various educational institutions of Karachi who completed raining in the field of community services and medical care under the auspices of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) received certificates at an impressive ceremony held at the Institute.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony Professor Adib -ul-Hasan Rizvi, Director SIUT reminded that the students volunteer program is a regular feature of SIUT activities as it greatly contributes towards community services but also provides the participants about basic guidelines of medical care in the field of Radiology, Clinical Laboratory, Urology, Nephrology, Transplantation, Dialysis and similar other fields of medical sciences. This training among the students he said “go a long way in serving the society at large". Director of SIUT said that the program is designed in such a manner that it gives an insight to the young generation about the human suffering of those who represent underprivileged segment of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Anwar Naqvi of SIUT discussed the basic framework of the volunteer program and said that it gives a sound understanding to the participants about the various health related issues and bring a positive change in their outlook and the role they are supposed to play in serving the society. He informed that the program has gained an immense popularity and to date more than 5300 students have successfully completed the training. He expressed confidence that parents and educational institutions will continue to support the volunteer program of SIUT.

The ceremony was largely attended by volunteers, members of academic institutions and medical staff of SIUT.
