Department of Physiotherapy

Physical therapy and Rehabilitation is a health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of physical impairments, particularly those associated with disorders of the muscles, nerves, bones, or brain.

Physical therapists work autonomously and as a member of multidisciplinary healthcare team within a wide variety of healthcare settings to improve a broad range of physical problems associated with different systems of the body, particularly treating to pain, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory systems and general fitness related issues in adults as well as pediatrics.

Ultimate goal is to reducing the hospital stay and improving functional status of the patients.

In SIUT, the department has been providing physical therapy and rehabilitation services since more than five years that is focused mainly on post-transplant and surgical rehabilitation.

We have treated approximately 29,000 patients in 2019 and provided quality care treatment for 24 hours seven days a week.
