Every year SIUT organizes World TB day to bring awareness about this deadliest killer disease. Experts give estimates of 4500 deaths and 30,000 new infections everyday across the world. The National TB program partnered with SIUT to setup a camp at SIUT Kathore in Malir district. The purpose of the camp was to find active cases by examination of patients, medical history, chest X-ray and sputum examination for TB. A day earlier the staff of center had distributed pamphlets in nearby villages to attend the camp.
Awareness sessions were also held by lectures and videos. The camp was run by Dr. Umbo, Incharge Kathore, Dr. Ali Nadeem, Microbiologist and Dr. Sunil Dodani, Infectious Disease Expert along with support services staff.
