Rich tributes were paid to Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo, the eminent author, teacher and intellectual who influenced and inspired successive generations at a memorial meeting organized at SIUT. Mr. Joyo passed away at the age of 102.
Those who spoke at the memorial meeting included former Vice Chancellor Sindh University Mazhar-ul-Huq Siddiqui, journalist Ghazi Salahuddin, retired bureaucrat Shafiq Piracha, columnist Dr. Touseef Ahmed Khan, media personality Salim Memon and educationist Ms. Fehmida Husain. The memorial meeting was a part of the program held across Sindh to recognize the outstanding services of Mr. Joyo.
Director SIUT Professor Adib Rizvi in his welcome address said Mr. Joyo was a man of sterling qualities. Dr. Rizvi said the SIUT was very close to the great intellectual as he donated all his money which he received from the government award of Kamal-e- Fun for the wellbeing and treatment of SIUT patients.
