Volunteers program held at SIUT

The 42nd batch of volunteers trained by SIUT ( Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation) in the field of medical care and community services was held in Karachi.

The program is an annual feature of the Institute in which students from various schools and colleges of Karachi take part and receive training in the field of community services, first aid and emergency medical care.

Certificate distribution ceremony marking the conclusion of week long training was held at SIUT.

Speaking on the occasion Professor Anwar Naqvi of SIUT said program is designed to groom and train the youngsters to understand the problems related to sufferings of fellow human beings. Such training he said brings a change in the outlook of young minds as they grow up and become a beneficial and productive member of the society. He said program is a part of SIUT's philosophy to provide free medical care with dignity.

Dr Naqvi informed that during 30 hours long training students are trained in various disciplines of medical sciences beside information on fundamentals of medicine and surgery. He said the program has earned a great popularity in the young fraternity of Karachi city that so far thousands of boys and girls have attended the program in the past.

He also said that importance of community services needs no further emphasis and asked the parents to encourage their children to attend the training program. Ceremony was largely attended by parents and teachers of participating schools and colleges.
