SIUT actively participated in a three day Pakistan Medical Association's Literary Festival held in Karachi. Discussion on " Deceased Organ Donation" a program initiated by SIUT was also part of the festival programming aiming to create awareness and educate the society at large on the humanitarian issue.
Festival attended by general public and the students of various medical colleges of the city discussed and highlight those health and medical issues which are prevalent in the society.
For this purpose a dedicated stall was established by SIUT at the PMA and Dow Medical University imparting education to masses on the deceased organ donation program and help them in carrying out other formalities required to become a willing donors. A very positive response was witnessed in this regard.
A debate l on the topic of " Should or Shouldn't Organ Donation Be Compulsory After Death" was also held which was participated by medical experts and other important personalities representing all walks of life.
On the third and final day a theatrical play " Dil Ki Awaz Suno" conceived and produced by Ms Sheema Kirmani was staged for the audience. The play is also aimed to promote and highlight the deceased organ donation program as an all important humanitarian issue promising to give new lease of life to those patients who have reached to the end stage of their organs failure.
