The Department of Infectious Diseases provides consultations for a variety of infections and their complications. It provides consultations to renal transplant recipients, who are particularly susceptible to opportunistic infections.
The Department of Infectious Diseases is responsible for controlling and preventing infections by ensuring cleanliness and hand hygiene. It also strives for judicious use of antibiotics and is actively involved in the antibiotic prescription and usage activities throughout SIUT.
It’s out-patient service (OPD ) provides consultations for a variety of infections e.g. TB, Typhoid, Malaria, Dengue, Urinary tract infections, Pneumonia, Skin infections etc.
